Description

Do you have an ugly wall or fence to hide? If so, this is the plant you are looking for. Passiflora ‘White Wedding’ grows rapidly and has very attractive dark green foliage making it perfect for covering a fence or pergola as it will do so in a single season. For this reason, it is best to avoid using this vine in a pot.  Due to its size it is best planted in the ground where it has plenty of space to spread out.

In addition to the attractive foliage White Wedding produces abundant, long lasting pure white blooms which cover this large vigorous vine from spring to fall.  The flowers are huge and numerous, so one plant can be covered with dozens of blossoms every day all summer long. You should plant it in full sun to get the most flowers.

For each item added to your cart, you will receive 1 starter plant in a 2.5” pot. A photo example of the starter plants we ship can be found on our Ordering and Shipping FAQ page. The plants are well rooted and are ready to be potted into a larger container.

For those interested, Passiflora ‘White Wedding’ is P. caerulea ‘Constance Eliott‘ x P. eichleriana. Henk Wouter & Roland Fischer’s hybrid.

Hardiness zone: 9

What does hardiness zone 9 mean?

It means that this Passiflora is not cold tolerant and require protection from freezing temperatures. If you are growing it outdoors, bring it inside once it starts to freeze.  It will tolerate temperatures down to freezing, but frost and prolonged cold temperatures will kill it. If you planted it in the ground in a cold climate, you may be able to dig it up to overwinter inside.  To do so, you can trim the top back significantly and then carefully dig up the plant to put it in a pot.
