Description

Passiflora ‘Constance Eliott’ produces pure white flowers all season long. The contrasting purple pistols and goldenrod anthers are striking against the white background. It boasts dark glossy green leaves which make the flowers really stand out.

It is a white selection of the popular Blue Crown Passion Flower, Passiflora caerulea. However, it is a very different plant. This vigorous, easy to grow vine is much smaller and more well mannered. For that reason, it does well both planted in the ground, and in containers.  It looks similar to Passiflora ‘White Wedding’ but is a smaller more dainty plant with superior cold hardiness.

Like most Passiflora, you should plant this vine in full sun for best performance. Also in contrast to Passiflora caerulea this vine does not seem to possess as great a degree of cold hardiness. Though that has been our experience, you may still wish to try it in your zone 8 garden as your micro-climate may be different than ours.

For each item added to your cart, you will receive 1 starter plant in a 2.5” pot. A photo example of the starter plants we ship can be found on our Ordering and Shipping FAQ page. The plants are well rooted and are ready to be potted into a larger container.

For those interested, Passiflora ‘Constance Eliott’ is P. caerulea ‘Constance Eliott’. It is a very old selection of P. caerulea that was in general cultivation by 1892, and is commonly misspelled as Elliot, Elliott, or Eliot.

Hardiness Zone: 9

What does hardiness zone 9 mean?

It means that this Passiflora is not cold tolerant and requires protection from freezing temperatures. If you are growing it outdoors, bring it inside once it starts to freeze.  This variety will tolerate temperatures down to freezing. Frost and prolonged cold temperatures will kill it.
