About our homestead
Snowdrop Farm’s homestead is a work in progress. In 2018, it was a soybean field with no infrastructure at all. Over the course of the next 7 years (and counting), Victoria built a house, 2 greenhouses, installed high tensile fence and purchased a flock of sheep. She also added ducks, geese, and chickens. This soybean field slowly grew into a business, and small farm that visitors often stop by to enjoy. On the best days it looks like controlled chaos from an inside perspective, and on the worst, mayhem. Nonetheless, to those driving by it looks idyllic, and it has somehow managed to become the ‘cutest’ little farm around.
Our About Us page tells more about Victoria and gives a quick overview of our farm, our history, and what makes our plants special.
Snowdrop Farm Homestead Blog
If you’re interested in learning more about what goes on behind the scenes at Snowdrop Farm, then you’ve come to the right place! Our blog is where you can find detailed information about gardening and homesteading topics. This includes all the lessons we have learned so you can avoid making the same mistakes!
Our blog covers a broad range of topics related to gardening and homesteading. Since we have greenhouses and a massive vegetable garden we look at a broad variety of gardening topics. We look at unusual plants you might want to try in your garden. We also profile pests and diseases you might encounter, and how to deal with them. Additionally we look at topics like how to properly prune various plants.
Our blog also covers information about caring for small ruminants (sheep in particular, but most information also applies to goats). We also discuss topics related to poultry and other things you might encounter on a homestead.
We started our story with a soybean field and someone who had never used a saw before. Somehow a house, farm, and business got build. Lessons were learned, and adventures were had. No matter where you are at in your homesteading journey, your dream can come true. We are here to show you what we have learned between then and today.
Never miss out again!
If you don’t want to miss out on any of our adventures, tips or how to articles then please join our newsletter! We send out weekly blog posts on all things homesteading. Gardening posts will be released once or twice a month.
