Description
Drop dead gorgeous bright pink flowers grace Passiflora ‘Anastasia’. The huge rich pink blossoms have red centered white filaments and dangle on long stems. It is a large, vigorous vine that is related to Passiflora ‘Constance Eliott’. It has many of the same easy to grow characteristics. The vigorous vine boasts deeply lobed, attractive, medium green leaves. This is a very free flowering vine that is quite tolerant of cold. It blooms spring and fall, and in most places may stop blooming in the mid summer heat. The one downside to this plant is that it dislikes excessive heat. It has performed well in our zone 8 garden, but it grows very slowly and does not bloom mid summer.
In most places you should plant it in full sun. However, in hot climates give it some afternoon shade.
For each item added to your cart, you will receive 1 starter plant in a 2.5” pot. A photo example of the starter plants we ship can be found on our Ordering and Shipping FAQ page. The plants are well rooted and are ready to be potted into a larger container.
For those interested, Passiflora ‘Anastasia’ is P. gritensis x P. caerulea ‘Constance Eliott’. Joos Brander’s hybrid.
Hardiness Zone: 10
What does hardiness zone 10 mean?
It means that this Passiflora is not cold tolerant and requires protection from freezing temperatures. If you are growing it outdoors, then you should bring it inside before it starts to freeze. This variety will tolerate temperatures down to freezing. Frost and prolonged cold temperatures will kill it.
