Description
Passiflora ‘Victoria’ is by far the best pink Passion Flower we grow. While many pinks are finicky and difficult to grow, not so with this variety! Victoria is a moderately vigorous evergreen vine with large deep pink flowers. It has long white filaments accented with a deep reddish-purple center. As an added bonus, it has very decorative pink buds. The vine produces delicate looking, dark green, tri-lobed leaves. Victoria is quite heat and cold tolerant and flowers in both cool and hot weather. In the hot mid summer, it does not drop its buds. It just keeps blooming.
This vine may produce tasty edible fruit if pollinated, however that rarely happens here. Despite the possibility of producing fruit, this is not a messy vine, and is best grown for its ornamental characteristics. The compact, modest growth habits coupled with its attractive foliage and decorative buds make it ideally suited to being grown up a trellis in a patio container.
Plant in full sun, and give it plenty of water when it is growing rapidly, and it will reward you with spectacular flowers.
For each item added to your cart, you will receive 1 starter plant in a 2.5” pot. A photo example of the starter plants we ship can be found on our Ordering and Shipping FAQ page. The plants are well rooted and are ready to be potted into a larger container.
For those interested, Passiflora ‘Victoria’ is a selection of P. violacea (P. caerulea x P. racemosa).
Hardiness Zone: 10
What does hardiness zone 10 mean?
It means that this Passiflora is not cold tolerant and requires protection from freezing temperatures. If you are growing it outdoors, bring it inside once it starts to freeze. This variety will tolerate temperatures down to freezing. Frost and prolonged cold temperatures will kill it.
