Description
Passiflora racemosa ‘Buzios’ is a pink flowered selection of Passiflora racemosa named for the Brazilian town of Buzios. It has large salmon pink blossoms, and large decorative buds of the same color. Buzios has glossy, oval shaped leathery leaves. Passiflora racemosa is unique highly variable species that produces racemes of blooms. Racemes are long strings of blossoms with no leaves in between them. These chains of blossoms open over the course of weeks. Thus this plant tends to bloom in waves.
This vine seems to like heat and is capable of producing an edible fruit if pollinated. We have not had our vine produce fruit as of yet. We find this vine to be relatively compact and manageable in our garden. It does well in containers and would be an excellent addition to a patio where its glossy foliage and gorgeous buds can be admired even when it is not blooming. Keep in mind that Buzios does not like cold temperatures and you should bring it indoors before temperatures start to dip in the fall. We would also recommend it for more advanced growers. Its not quite as fool proof as some of our other pinks.
Plant in full sun, and give it plenty of water when it is growing rapidly, and it will reward you with spectacular flowers.
For each item added to your cart, you will receive 1 starter plant in a 2.5” pot. A photo example of the starter plants we ship can be found on our Ordering and Shipping FAQ page. The plants are well rooted and are ready to be potted into a larger container.

Hardiness Zone: 10
What does hardiness zone 10 mean?
It means that this Passiflora is not cold tolerant and requires protection from freezing temperatures. If you are growing it outdoors, bring it inside once it starts to freeze. This variety will tolerate temperatures down to freezing. Frost and prolonged cold temperatures will kill it.
