Description
Monika Fischer’s claim to fame is its vividly purple blooms, and the intensity of its color saturation is impressive! It is very free flowering and one of the brightest colored passion flowers available. The blooms sit atop a vigorous vine with attractive foliage that has reddish stems and leaf veins. Because this variety is so care free and early to flower it makes an excellent choice for growing as a summer annual. Passiflora ‘Monika Fischer’ is also well suited to container growing, and responds well to pruning.
In most places you should plant it in full sun. However, in hot climates it would prefer to have some afternoon shade. Flower buds may burn in the hottest part of summer in warmer climates.

What does hardiness zone 10 mean?
It means that this Passiflora is not cold tolerant and requires protection from freezing temperatures. If you are growing it outdoors, bring it inside once it starts to freeze. This variety will tolerate temperatures down to near freezing, but prolonged cold temperatures will kill it.
