Pictures of our Katahdin lambs are posted on this page as they are born, so check back frequently! Lambing season starts February 2026. Sire and availability status will be noted with each lamb’s picture.
For 2026 we will be breeding the same 3 rams as last season. However this year Alfalfa will get a larger portion instead of only a couple ewes. We hope that our spotting gets distributed more evenly this season as well! While registration isn’t our main breeding goal, 2 of our 3 rams are registered. Our ewes are a mixture of registered, recorded, and commercial stock.
We will begin accepting deposits for spring lambs on September 1st, 2025. If you are interested in putting a deposit on lambs please contact us.
2025 Katahdin Lambs
For 2025 we bred 3 rams. We bred a large portion of our flock to Sol to produce a large quantity of lambs with the highly sought after spotting. His first lamb crop arrived last spring, and we were very pleased with them.
In 2025 almost all of our lambs came out either black or white, not black & white. The ewe lambs got too much spotting to the point they are pure white and the rams not enough spotting! And from ewe/ram combinations that have produced spotted lambs in the past. Such is the mystery and frustration of breeding for color in sheep. Nonetheless, you can rest assured that all of these lambs have spotting genes and can and will produce spotted lambs!

2024 Katahdin Lambs
2024 was the year of black lambs!
The fun (or frustrating) part of breeding for spotting is that it is highly variable and extremely unpredictable. The same ewe and ram combination can produce a wide variation in the amount of spotting produced from year to year. This year our flock has decided we need more black! These lambs are all still carrying the spotting genes even though they aren’t doing a good job of displaying it. They are capable of producing spotted lambs.
Our new black ram, Midnight, has produced some very nice looking lambs. All of his lambs have been mostly black with white markings rather than spots. They are very solid and are growing fast.
Our spotted ram Sol is producing beautifully spotted lambs as expected. He has also produced 3 mostly black lambs. His lambs are also nice solid, fast growing lambs.
