Our 2024 Katahdin lambs are all sold. Please check back next spring to see what we have available.
2024 has been the year of black lambs!
The fun (or frustrating) part of breeding for spotting is that it is highly variable and extremely unpredictable. The same ewe and ram combination can produce a wide variation in the amount of spotting produced from year to year. This year our flock has decided we need more black! These lambs are all still carrying the spotting genes even though they aren’t doing a good job of displaying it. They are capable of producing spotted lambs.
Our new black ram, Midnight, has produced some very nice looking lambs. All of his lambs have been mostly black with white markings rather than spots. They are very solid and are growing fast.
Our spotted ram Sol is producing beautifully spotted lambs as expected. He has also produced 3 mostly black lambs. His lambs so far look to also be nice solid, fast growing lambs.
Available lambs are notated on this page with their pictures. We will begin accepting deposits for lambs from our 2025 crop in September. Next year we will hopefully have more spotting in our lambs again.
